The sun is shining bright and the birds are chirping, warmer weather has arrived. The Wheels4Change team loves the warm weather. This means we can get busy riding our bikes, running, and spending time outside at the Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park. We would love for you to join us and be a part of our team.
Bicycles will be available for veterans and their families to borrow and ride on the towpath at the Ohio Veterans’ Memorial Park. Come down to the park to meet other veterans, go for a bike ride, and take a minute to remember our fallen heroes. (https://www.ovmp.org/)
The first race of the season is the Ashley White, WhiteHot 5k. 1st Lieutenant Ashley White graduated from Kent State University Army ROTC in 2009 and was killed in Afghanistan in 2011. Proceeds from the race are awarded as scholarships to current Kent State University Army ROTC Cadets. The race will be April 29, 2017, at Kent State University Terrace Hall. The race begins at 8am and costs $25 to sign up. (https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/Kent/WhiteHot5K)
These are two great opportunities to meet other veterans, enjoy the beautiful weather, and to be a part of the local community. The Wheels4Change team always appreciates participation and a little friendly competition! Come join us and see how fun and rewarding it can be to bike and run with fellow veterans.
Stayed tuned for upcoming events!
